Hurricane Ike – Friday Update

The probability a tropical storm will hit the city of Austin has dropped from 52 percent to 43 percent since the morning.

So more likely than not, winds will be less than 34 miles-per-hour, according to the National Hurricane Center. 

San Antonio’s forcast is even brighter. Chances of a tropical storm hitting have plummeted to only 15 percent.

And the probability of a hurricane in either city has dropped to 1 percent.

A tropical storm has a wind-speed of 34 to 64 miles-per-hour.
